Como is home to some of the best attractions in all of Lombardy, and it is worth a visit even for a simple stroll through the streets of the center. It is an ideal destination both for those visiting Lake Como for a day and for those staying longer.
Piazza San Fedele and its Basilica
Just a 3-minute walk from Piazza Duomo is Piazza San Fedele. This square, originally a grain market, is home to a beautiful Romanesque church dating back to 1120: the Basilica of San Fedele.
If you happen to pass by this little square on a Saturday, you will have the chance to come across numerous stalls, where you can find antiques and handicrafts.
FUNICOLARE COMO TO BRUNATE
Want to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Como? Visit Brunate, a town that overlooks Como from the top of a hill 715 meters (about 2,345 ft) high.
The Como-Brunate cable car – which runs from Piazza Alcide de Gasperi, very close to the Como Lago train station – will take you to Brunate in a few minutes.
BOAT TRIP TO THE VILAS
Around the lake there are small villages with charming fairy-tales-ish alleys. The most famous villages are Bellagio, Colico, Menaggio, Lecco. The boat trip itself gives you a unique perspective of the lake and can be booked with the agencies in Como.

OLD CITY CENTER + PIAZZA BRA

ARENA DI VERONA
One of the largest of its kind and among the best preserved Roman amphitheaters, Verona's arena was built in the reign of Diocletian, about 290 CE. Tickets here.
CASTELVECCIO + PONTE SCALIGERO
The castle's main tower and ramparts afford views of the bridge, the city, and surrounding hills. The castle interior has been brilliantly restored and transformed into bright exhibit space by architect Carlo Scarpa, without sacrificing the integrity or history of the castle. Tickets here.
TORRE DEI LAMBERTI
84m high this tower allows you to have a unique view from the whole city. Besides the panoramic view, it’s also possible to visit the Art Museum and Gallery. Buy the tickets here
CASA DI GIULIETTA
Verona is perhaps best known internationally as the setting for Shakespeare's famous tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. Inevitably, tourists asked where the star-crossed lovers lived, and Veronese obligingly pointed out a small medieval palazzo just off Piazza delle Erbe that had an attractive courtyard where tourists could stand without blocking the street. Firenze

2. Duomo (Santa Maria del Fiore)
The Duomo of Florence is the landmark with which everyone associates Florence. Dominating the skyline, the cathedral has become a true landmark of the Firenze. More info 'Duomo of Florence'.
For years the government of Florence took place in the Palazzo Vecchio. Even today the city council still resides here. Today, however, the palace has more of a function as a museum.
4. Ponte Vecchio, the famous bridge
The Ponte Vecchio is Florence's most famous bridge over the Arno.
5. The Galleria dell’Accademia of Florence is an art school, where a large collection of sculptures is collected that served to inspire the students.
The Piazza della Signoria is the most famous square in Firenze. You will find the famous Palazzo Vecchio with a copy of Michelangelo's David on the doorstep and the famous clock tower.
The Santa Croce was built to outperform the competing Santa Maria Novella.
